Welcome to the Ducklings webpage!
Ducklings are taught by Mrs Roberts (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs. Mitchell (Thursday and Friday) and Mrs. James and Holly are the teaching assistants.
In Ducklings we learn through play and exploration in our enabling and inclusive environment. We have a large outdoor area, which is used all year round to support the children's development.
We teach the children to read using the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised programme. Phonics is taught daily, and children will bring home books to practice that are closely matched to their phonics knowledge.

We use the Maths Mastery programme, which will ensure that all children have a solid foundation in early mathematical concepts that they can build on as they progress through the school.
Numberblocks at home | NCETM - Click on this link, which is designed for parents to use at home with their children.
Your child's learning journey is recorded in the online journal Tapestry. Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to add to their journal too - we love to celebrate children's achievements and adventures from out of school!
Useful information
Tuesday - sharing books are sent home
Friday is PE day - please ensure your child has a PE kit in school every week
Friday - phonics books are sent home and collected the following Thursday
Friday - newsletters are sent via Arbor, homework challenges are sent home in book bags and Ed the Duck is sent home
Please remember we have children with severe nut allergies and are therefore a strictly nut-free school. Any item in a lunch box containing traces of nuts will be sent home unopened. Thank you for your understanding and support.
